The building was designed as a deconstructed form of the Kaaba’s cubic expression, standing firm and proud. Part of the building’s square roof was pulled, coning upward to create a higher space on one side, highlighting the importance of human’s relationship with the greater being. The prayer room’s mass scale was created higher than other supporting masses, as a hierarchy to the main function. From basic perpendicular grid that came with the site, the building then was tilted to the direction of the Qibla which then they were subdued. There are small spots of light coming into the building, due to its material that was made entirely by an arrangement of ironwood. Aside from lighting, natural air also comes through the openings and create a cool airflow.
