The Vanya Lake mosque combines the pentagon and hexagon as its basic shape. The firm geometric form is a direct refference to classical Islamic geometry. The main site forms a hexagon while the mosque forms a pentagon, creating an interesting set of rooms through its superimpose. The design of the landscape also creates a poetic circulation throuhg bridges and pathways that stretchess across the lake. The mosque’s main space has enough space for seven storeys, balanced with the tall minaret, that’s hidden under its expressive form.
