Komunitas Salihara

Established in 2008, this joint effort in architecture was commissioned by Komunitas Salihara, a foundation that organizes regular music, dance, arts and theater performances, as well as public lectures. As part as the new community complex, the designed building has an administrative office, a residency for artists, and a shop. The office building works as a medium to unite all other functions. The large mass of the building creates a barrier between the site and neighboring residential areas, while it stretches from the east to the west. The building’s five-storey façade was created with layers that reflect the interior of the building on its material use.
